Over my 50+ years, I have started and stopped my fitness journey many times. When I was young I had the positive influence of my mom to push me. As I got older and moved away from home it got harder. I have gained and lost 50+ pounds more than once and 25+ many times. I have tried fad diets and extreme exercise, none of which I was able to stick with.
As I approached my 50’s I found a more sustainable approach to weight loss and fitness. A few years ago I used Weight Watchers and started working out with Eric and his group. After some initial success, I fell off yet again and ended up with back surgery and was scared about my future. But after a little bit of time feeling sorry for myself, I got back up, started a realistic eating plan and joined The Zone.
I have been working out consistently and even started getting up for 5:30 am Class! I am NOT a morning person, but I must admit I am loving the feeling of getting my workout done first thing in the morning! I still struggle from time to time, but I have Eric and the group to help keep me on track. I also have a very demanding job that sometimes requires travel. Staying committed is especially hard when this happens, but I have the LIVE, online classes and On Demand Classes to take advantage of on the road! The accountability and camaraderie of The Zone is truly what keeps me going!

Why did we ask Andrea to be a Zone Mentor?
Because if you asked her she probably wouldn't describe herself as someone who can mentor others, But she'd be WRONG! Andrea has had her struggles from time to time. Andrea has dealt with health setbacks and an unrelenting work schedule. There are A LOT of people with similar stories out there. But what makes Andrea special is her quiet, tenacious approach to her health and fitness. She knows she can't do it all, but she attacks what she can do like no one else! I am so very proud of Andrea and all her hard work in 2019. She was named the FIRST EVER Member of The Month for October!
