I have always liked being active. In high school, a neighbor recruited me for cross country, and i was "hooked." Although I still love to run, I have realized the importance of balancing cardio with strength training. At almost 52 years old, I am grateful for my health, and the ability to exercise.
My motto is "I want to do WHAT I CAN, WHILE I CAN" I believe in a balanced healthy lifestyle, balancing BODY (exercise and nutrition) MIND (mental health and learning) and SPIRIT (Faith and positive energy). A balanced approach to health creates a lifestyle that is more sustainable than off/on dieting or extreme exercise that causes burnout. Working with Eric and the awesome people in The Zone, I find the balance I need.
I really enjoy the total body workouts combining strength and cardio.... great way to "sweat it out" at the end of the day. I also enjoy getting up early to do the morning classes. Ok maybe I don't exactly "enjoy" getting up early, but working out early starts the day off right; gets the blood pumping, the muscles warm, and increasing my energy for the day. Somehow, those early morning days usually end up being the most productive.
GOALS:
* Stay consistent-workouts minimum 4 days a week, maintain weight
* Commit to workouts schedule on Sunday for the upcoming week.
* Continue to rebuild strength after summer slump. Focus on core strength and toning.
Why did we ask Mary Beth to be a Zone Mentor?
Mary Beth is one of the hardest workers we have in The Zone. There are times we have to remind her to actually take the rest periods during class; She likes to keep moving! She also enjoys taking a variety of classes, morning and night, sometimes in the same day! Mary Beth is always up for a good workout! Her positive attitude and positive approach to life make her a natural selection to be a Zone Mentor.
